>How To: Neon Split Nails

>

Here’s my last post for now in the neon range. The top I wore in my last outfit was pretty out there, but as I’ve told you, there are ways to wear neon in a more subtle way. I guess the most subtle way, are neon nails. But I wanted to do something different than just polishing my nails all neon, that’s why I came up with this incredibly easy tutorial. No tools needed! Just neon nail polish (mine is from American Apparel) and black nail polish. And maybe a little top coat.
So here’s how I did it:
Paint the bottom of your nails with some neon nail polish. Paint it in a rough triangle, but it doesn’t need to be perfect. I used two neon layers to make the neon pop a little more.
Get your black nail polish and paint the sides of your nails black, making sure you’re doing it a criss cross way in the middle. Make diagonal stripes first if you like, that makes it even easier. Or make one side black first, and than the other. Try it out a little.
And, well, that’s all there is to it!
I really like how they’ve turned out and obviously you can do this with any colors you like!
Orange and black would rock with Halloween, but I can imagine gold and denim blue working very well together too. Good luck (and send me a photo your own creations on Twitter)!

Aztec leggings   /   River Island
Neon top   /   American Apparel
Cardigan   /   H&M (men’s department)
Wedges   /   H&M
Jewelry   /   Buddha to Buddha, ASOS and H&M
Wearing my neon top again, since I’m really into neon for a bit of wardrobe variation, especially after getting some more inspiration from the images on yesterday’s post. I’ve worn these leggings a few time now, but I think adding neon gives it a whole different dimension. That’s also why I’ve kept the rest of the outfit simple. Just some ankle boots and an oversized black cardi.
I’d love to hear what you think, let me know!

>Street Trend | Neon

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Neon is what you should add to your wardrobe right now. Add just a dash to a simple black and white outfit, or mismatch whatever outfit you want with a smashing neon bag. Or just paint your nails neon. Fashion weeks were filled with neon, and I love how you just can’t get around it. Neon, it’s in your face. I love it.
I really want a yellow neon Cambridge Satchel!
I’ll post another outfit soon, showing you how I like to add a dash of neon to my fall wardrobe.
What do you think of neon? Would you wear it, or is it too much?

>Event | ShopUp Fashion Sale

>

Yesterday I went to the ShopUp Fashion Sale! I had never heard of it, but won two tickets via Fashionchick for their VIP night. ShopUp Fashion Sale is a monthly returning sample sale, selling all kinds of great brands like Cheap Monday, Mads Norgaard, Acne jeans, and many more. Each month there’s a two day sale in a different location in the Netherlands. This weekend, it’s in Amsterdam! I went with the lovely Laura, and we were quite stunned by the beauty of the location (an old church) and the amount of clothes and jeans they had (for men and women)! We spent two hours going through amazing items that were up to 80% off  (Acne jeans for 50 euros!). As I’ve said, we went to the VIP night, but today and tomorrow the sale goes on, is accessible to all and most of all: it’s free! So if you’re (living) in Amsterdam, you should definitely stop by! And if you’re not, no worries, next month they will be in another city. Just keep an eye on their website and Facebook page. I’ll definitely be joining another one of their sales, since I love the brands that are for sale!
What you’re looking at:
1. The beautiful venue (very close to Amsterdam Central Station, if you’re going).
2 & 3. Some of the clothes.
4. The lovely Laura who I had so much fun with that night.
5. Trying to take a picture of the Cheap Monday vest I was trying on, but the mirror was too nasty!
6. Laura in the top. I absolutely loved the neckline but the fit wasn’t made for me, unfortunately.
7. More clothing, they had so many things to choose from!
8. Me and Ingmar, the man behind ShopUp.
What I did get at ShopUp? I’ll show you soon!

>Outfit: When it’s cold outside

>

Knit   /   Vero Moda
Leather trousers   /   New Yorker
Bag   /   River Island
Scarf   /   Chasin
Shoes   /   Converse
Watch   /   SIX
Oh how cold it is outside. Time to get the scarfs and gloves out. I’m wearing what’s my favorite snood right now, because my boyfriend made it (well, had it made) and because I love the fabric and black/white knit. I got this slightly asymmetric jumper at Vero Moda last week, for just 10 euros on sale! Pairing with a bit of leather again, to keep the mixing-fabrics spirit up :)
Excuse the bad quality of some of the pictures, I’m still figuring out why Blogger makes my high quality pictures look like this :( Any ideas anyone?

>Versace for H&M – The good bits

>

Here are the looks from the Versace for H&M collection that I do like. I’m not a big Versace fan, so when H&M announced they were doing a collection with Versace, I was a bit disappointed. I was kind of hoping for a collaboration with Alexander Wang, or Balmain. Now that all the looks and items are out in the open, my verdict is twofold. The colorful, flower-printed leggings, scarfs and dresses are really not my cup of tea. I could imagine the items looking great on others, but not for me. But there are a few looks that I do really like, especially the first look you see above!
I’ve also selected a few items that I like, especially the leather jacket and the ring.
Still, the skirt for instance is 99 euros and since I like it, but I wouldn’t really buy a 99 euro skirt at the moment and I don’t care much for the name Versace, I don’t think I’ll lie in front of an H&M store at 8 AM november 17th.
How about you?

>Outfit: Warm and cozy

>

Blanket wrap cardigan   /   Warehouse
Burgundy treggings   /   Zara
Faux leather top   /   ASOS
Pistol boots   /   Sacha
Rings   /   ASOS
It’s about that time of the year again when I go thoroughly through my closet to see what’s in there to keep me warm. That’s when I found this Warehouse cardigan I got last year. I still really adore this cardi, since it’s really warm, soft and I love the print! Also wearing my new ASOS jewelry and the faux leather top I got in the sale last week. Since I’m all about mixing fabrics lately, I tried some leather with a knit again.
Do your still wear your knits from last year or do you get a new wardrobe every season? I’m curious!
