Monthly Archives: June 2012

(New) Favorites

How time flies by! It’s already the end of June.. My blog turned one, I handed in my thesis on thursday so I officially have a 2 month vacation now, and tomorrow it’s July already! I thought I’d round up my favorites from this month but I couldn’t resist also showing you some new stuff since I’ve been sale shopping a little! I got myself some light blue jeans for a change, and I love my new Nowhere knit even though it’s more icy mint colored than light blue as I thought it would be. So here you are: this months new favorites:
T-shirt: Acne / Jeans: Zara / Fishnet dress: Isabel Marant / Knit: Nowhere / Bracelet: Fashionology / Nail polish: Sephora / iPhone case: Iconemesis

Outfit | The Usual Suspects – 1 Year Blog Anniversary!

Jacket: Isabel Marant Ulyse jacket / White knit: H&M / Perforated skirt: Zara / Zebra scarf: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang / iPhone case: Iconemesis

Happy birthday to my blog! Exactly one year ago I started blogging. Just because I wanted to share my inspiration and style and since I enjoyed reading other blogs so much, I thought let’s give it a try. One year ago, I couldn’t have imagined being where I am right now. Of course my blog is still a 1 year old baby but even though it’s hard work and means facing criticism sometimes, I really found my passion in blogging and have experienced so many good things thanks to my blog. But the most thankful I am to you, my readers, who read my blog everyday, leave the sweetest comments and support me. THANKS lovelies!

Back to my outfit: there was no other name to give it than The Usual Suspects. First of all there are my favorite colors: black and white. I could wear endless black and white outfits, especially considering my mainly black, white and grey colored wardrobe, and I guess it’s the combinations one makes that keeps black and white interesting. Or at least I hope that’s the case. Second of all, not wearing anything you haven’t seen before. My beloved Ulyse jacket, my suits-everything Wang bag, and zebra scarf. And remember this pencil skirt? Pulling it up and folding it a little creates a mini skirt. A very ‘me’ outfit, as you might know by now.

So thanks again for all the love and support and don’t forget to join my anniversary giveaway to win €100 on!

Oh, Boy..

Oh Boy, the Chanel Boy bag in velvet.. In the most beautiful shades of green, blue, and my favorite one: purple. Definitely my favorite bag from the Fall 2012 accessories. Velvet is one of the trending fabrics right now anyway and we’re going to see much more of them in Fall, but I’m sure nothing will be as good as these quilted chained bags. If only I could afford one though!

Outfit | Peachy

Jumper: Zara / Fishnet tanktop: Nelly (t-shirt version on sale here) / Leopard print shorts: Mango / Flatform sneakers: ASOS / Bag: Mango / Bracelet: Fashionology

I’m finally wearing my peach colored jumper. It’s been in my closet for quite a while, but as you might know by now I don’t wear much brights and orange might be a first to wear since many years. However, I fell for this because of the soft peach color that isn’t necessarily ‘me’ but very pretty indeed, and of course the interesting split back. There isn’t even a hint of black, I’m proud of myself ;) Don’t get me wrong, I’m very comfortable with my style and wouldn’t want to change it or force myself to wear things that I don’t feel comfortable in. However, thinking out of my box can sometimes be surprisingly refreshing, as it was when I wore this ensemble. Then again, it won’t be a regular thing since this jumper isn’t being worn as much as it deserves to be and might end up in the ‘Shop my closet’ page that I’m preparing to launch soon, so that you guys can shop the stuff that deserves to be worn, but I don’t wear anymore. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this outfit though!

InstaDiary | Busy times

Another diary with instagram pics, even though I haven’t been doing much lately besides working on my thesis (and I promise to never whine about it ever again from next week, when it’s done). Ok, maybe a little online shopping (oops) and a romantic dinner with my boyfriend. So here’s what you’re looking at:
– My wavy hair. I always straighten it’s but this is how it naturally falls and I decided to wear it like this more often.
– Ordered these Alexander Wang Liya lookalikes at Zara! They’ll arrive today so more pics to come.
– Wearing my DIY-ed denim vest.
– Actually, wearing a lot of denim lately, like these baggy jeans from Zara.
– Playing around with iPhone apps to make my pics look even cooler. Love the Frametastic app.
– Wearing my tie dye jeans with studded loafers.
– Romantic dinner with my boyfriend, had this delicious tuna starter. If you’re ever in Arnhem, go to So Phi – my favorite restaurant!
– Ordered this lilac slightly sheer parka and 2 other items on after winning a gift voucher. Not really what you’d expect me to wear maybe, but a challenge every once in a while can be very refreshing. Or not, we’ll see.
– Just how cool is this artsy iPhone case from Iconomesis?  I love the artwork, so cool!

And what’s to come this week? Finishing my thesis (help) and hold a presentation about it. My one year blog anniversary (yay!) – paired with a veeeery nice giveaway and a few more things you will find out about soon enough.. What are your plans for the week? Have a good one!

Outfit | Pyjama Chic

Paisley printed trousers: Zara / T-shirt: American Apparel / Coat: Stylein via Nelly / Shoes: Steve Madden / Bag: Alexander Wang / Bracelets: Fashionology

Hello there pyjama-ish cool printed trousers that I loved the moment I saw them. Definitely something different in my closet, but a few wardrobe spicer-uppers never hurt, especially not if they make my legs look this long. Excuse the Stylein coat overload on the blog, it’s my favorite coat though and goes so well with these trousers to ‘chic up’ my look. But then again, a reader once told me to ‘never apologize for awesomeness’, and I totally agree with her. After all the sweet comments on my hair lately I’ve decided to stay away from the straightener this week. Not sure about that though, my hair never seems to go in the direction I want it to. Oh well, there are more things to worry about I guess. Like exciting things happening next week which I’m still leaving a mystery for you, but I’ll tell soon, promise! So what are you up to this rainy sunday? Have you made use of the Nelly code yet and checked out their sale? Got yourself anything? Tell me!
