Outfit | Big Coat

It’s big coat weather. You can feel that winter’s coming as it’s getting colder and when going outside there’s nothing better than wrapping yourself up in a thick, warm coat. I already found mine and am very winter-ready now, with this thick coat. Or actually, I found two, because I ordered this oversized green one last week and it came in yesterday and it is just perfect, I’ll show you soon! I love the pattern on this one, most of my coats are simple in color but this one is great when wearing basics underneath. I went for multiple shades of grey this time, wearing a cozy cable knit and my beloved boots. High boots go so well with a big coat! I’m off again, it’s my dads birthday today (happy birthday dad!) and I have lots of things to do. Looking forward to the weekend, even though I haven’t made much plans yet!
Enjoy your Friday!

5 Things I Love

5 things I really love right now:

1. The new Nowhere autumn/winter collection, which I think is the strongest Nowhere collection so far. I love the oversized leather look trousers, the blue turtleneck and the super chic long coat! See the whole collection here.
2. Thick black eyeliner, I really can’t go without these days. I’m definitely trying the version in the above picture soon, it looks so cool.
3. These two images from a Vogue France editorial styled by Emanuelle Alt. She’s such a genius, everything is perfect from the styling to the model to the photography.
4. Thinking of getting a cool pair of Nike Air Max to expand my sneakers collection. I really like these white and grey leopard ones.. Image by Tommy Ton.
5. They’ve been on my mind for a few months now: the Acne Alma boots. I especially like this textured version that will go so well with a big shearling coat like this one pictured above, also from Acne.

Outfit | What’s that jacket, Margiela?

What’s that jacket, Margiela? Well, obviously it’s Margiela for H&M, since the real deal is a little bit out of my league but I really like the H&M collaborations, it’s just great to get your hands on a piece from a designer you love but can’t afford. If you can get your hands on it, that is, because this jacket was sold out so quickly! I went to the store for the blue oversized turtleneck but that was gone within 2 minutes and then I saw the blazer and thought I’d give it a try because it looked so good in real. Well, it is very good indeed. Love the fit, slightly longer length and shoulder details. And I’m not really the type for a blazer but sometimes I like adding pieces to my wardrobe that are not just another version of what’s already in there but something that I didn’t have yet, like the perfect black blazer. It’s actually a re-edition from SS 1989 – my birth year – which makes it that little extra special. I wore quite chic in this outfit, at least more chic than you’re probably used to from me, but I guess I was in the mood for chic. My blazer and I will have lots of fun though, apparently I kind of needed one without even knowing it!

Pre-Winter Favorites

4 of my pre-winter favorites right now: the boots that you couldn’t have missed – sorry that they’re sold out everywhere and I keep throwing them at you but they do are my favorites :) – tartan scarf from McGregor, a huge warm and very pretty patterned coat from H&M Trend that will surely keep me warm all winter, and 2 cute tiny necklaces from Delilah Dust.

The perfect dress by Karen Millen

If you can get me in a dress, there must be something good happening. I own maybe 2 dresses (I’m not even sure) and I actually never wear them. I’m just not really the kind of girl that wears dresses, even though I love seeing them on others. But I went to a Karen Millen event last week themed ‘The Perfect Dress’ and my initial hesitation disappeared pretty quickly when I spotted this blue beauty. It’s a dress, but not too girly or sexy, perfect length and color and well, a really pretty party dress. I guess you can say I did find the perfect dress for this party season. Who knew?
Karen Millen has a Dutch webshop now as well, you should really check out her party dresses. You can find the one I’m wearing here. Also next Thursday (18-21u) there will be an event for everyone (so you as well!) in the store at the P.C. Hooftstraat  where you can shop with discount, receive gifts, and there will be make-up artists, stylists, bites & drinks and a chance to win shopping money. Sounds like fun, right?

Outfit | Favorite trousers

I admit, I have a lot of clothes. A lot of trousers, from skinny to sporty to chic to palazzo.. But my number one favorite trousers in my closet right now are these leopard oversized track trousers. Not just because of the print and the color that makes the leopard less ‘leopard’ (does that make sense?) but it is so warm and soft and the fabric is almost like tweed. So I was indeed wearing studded slippers with it when it was only 5 degrees outside, but my feet weren’t even cold because the pants are so warm. Again your looking at this leather jacket that I’ve been wearing a lot but it’s just so good and a fitted leather jacket works very well with oversized trousers. I’m off because I’m celebrating my 4 year anniversary with my man today, going to the spa for some pampering and a nice dinner after. What are you up to this Sunday?
