30 Hours in Stockholm with Weekday

Back from Stockholm! Even though it was a short trip, I had the most amazing time which was my first time in Stockholm. I’m already hooked to the city and hope to be back very soon! For now, here’s a visual diary of what I did, saw and obsessed over..

After arriving in Stockholm we (which is Jan en Martijn from schoon den boer PR, an editor from Dutch Vogue and an editor from Dutch Glamour) went straight to the Weekday Headquarters where we got a sneak peek of the gorgeous new AW14 collection from Weekday and Weekday Collection. Great prints and amazing coats, I actually wanted to wear all the men’s coats they showed and am definitely planning on visiting the men’s department more often at Weekday. Also: a very exclusive preview of a book which I can’t tell you much about yet, but definitely will later!

The trip was actually all about denim, the next morning we had a presentation with Weekday’s jeans designer Johan Langer-Tegman who told us all about the 7 days jeans collection. At the Weekday store we had breakfast with Swedish press and bloggers and learnt all about the Monday, Tuesday, etc. jeans (hence MTWTFSS Weekday) and saw the collection that is in stores now and some of it in stores soon. I loooved the white ensemble above and definitely hope to get my hands on those white boyfriend jeans (should be in store about now or next week) and a black denim wrap skirt in the 5th picture. And since I’ve been looking for new boyfriend denim, I got the Friday men’s jeans that are a perfect, slightly stretchy boyfriend jeans that comes in about 20 different washes (!). I was definitely impressed by the MTWTFSS Weekday jeans collection with the many different styles and washes, there’s great basics but they are really on trend as well with for instance printed denim and boxy denim jackets for this spring. There’s an exciting jeans promotion coming up in March as well, I’ll definitely keep you updated.

And then of course, it was Stockholm, so some shopping had to be done as well. And we stayed in the most amazing Nobis hotel. A huge thanks to Weekday and schoon den boer PR for an amazing Stockholm trip and a new obsession with MTWTFSS Weekday denim. Check it out online here. Happy Weekend!

This was CPHFW

Gallery cphfw

So I’m back for 2 days already but it took me a little while to do a CPHFW recap since I’ve done and seen so much and had so many pictures.. I decided to do a small diary showing my favorite moments of the week! Below the pictures are descriptions of what it is. And there’s me wearing the same coat in each picture, first of all because I’m obsessed with this coat (from Selected bought on ASOS, available here and here) and second of all because it’s the only warm coat I brought. Enjoy!

The first picture is from the Anne Sofie Madsen show which was a mix of biker couture and avantgarde punk, with lots of leather, (faux?) fur and biker boots. Such an interesting collection with many pieces I w0uld totally wear! Second and third picture are from the Samsøe & Samsøe AW14 collection which I had a look at while visiting the Gallery fair. As always, an amazing collection of which I’d wear almost anything and I’m obsessed with that grey coat!

Gorgeous details from the Ganni AW14 collection. They had the presentation in a really cool museum and once again, I was obsessing over coats.

Visiting the Baum und Pferdgarten showroom after visiting the show. I was really stunned by the collection that involved a lot of pattern play, interesting fabrics and a great color scheme. You may call this textured green coat my new obsession.

My favorite look from the Wood Wood AW14 show.

cphfw shopping

Of course there had to be some shopping involved in the trip as well! I had a small heart attack when trying on the most amazing leather jacket at Acne Studios, and brought this super cool leo and zebra sweater home with me from And Other Stories. Can’t wait until we get our own And Other Stories in Amsterdam!

copenhagen andersen hotel

I stayed with Debbie and Joyce in a great hotel called the Andersen Hotel. It was really central located in Vesterbro which is a really cool area, and the hotel and rooms looked really cool and modern, just as I like it. The service was amazing, as well as the breakfast (although I still don’t understand how people can eat herring for breakfast, seriously?) and we had a really nice stay thanks to the Andersen Hotel and Bloggernet. Can’t wait for next seasons CPHFW!

Short but Sweet

My Amsterdam Fashion Week was short but sweet. Definitely short, since I only did 2 days. Somehow I was exhausted over the weekend so I decided to take some well-needed rest, and I just had 2 great days of AFW so I could live with it. My highlights of my short AFW experience? Obviously the Collectie Arnhem show (read the post about it here). but also a great hotel, getting my hair done and traveling in luxury.
The first 4 pictures are from the hotel I stayed at: Hotel The Exchange. It’s a really cool design hotel with rooms ranging from 1 to 5 stars, and every room is designed by a different student from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Every room is different and my room, The Room of Misunderstood Creatures had really cool furniture and a bit of a dark side to it, contrasted by the sequins on the wall and in the floor. I love staying in interesting places and this hotel certainly is a really creative and cool place to stay at. I wish I could have seen all of the 61 rooms!

The second 3 pictures are from getting my hair done at Toni & Guy who did a great job at making me pretty on Thursday! Pictures were made by Bad Manor.
And the last two instasnaps are from another big highlight: taking taxiservice Uber to literally every place I needed to be that day. Boy, I don’t know if I can (at least I don’t want to) travel by tram anymore. The super luxurious cars Uber uses and the easy service via the app was great, I felt a bit like a celebrity!

So that was my short but sweet Amsterdam Fashion Week. Thanks Bloggernet for making these an awesome 2 days!
Right now: packing for Copenhagen Fashion Week. Absolutely can’t wait!

Who run the world?

What I do to escape from every day reality and have a little me-time? Turn on the heating to sauna-mode, put on something comfy, grab a bag of Doritos and snuggle up in bed with lots of pillows, watching my favorite series. It’s my 30 or 40-minute getaway from reality and a way to completely get my mind off things. One of my favorite series is definitely Girls. It’s honest, it’s incredibly funny, cheeky and contemporary, and who can’t relate to the struggles and things that Hannah, Shoshana, Marnie or Jessie go through? Based in New York, I completely enjoy my weekly routine of watching those 4 girls living the life in the city I once hope to live in. I really enjoy the honesty, no-nonsense and at times a little vulgarity in the series.
So tell me, are you watching Girls yet? Good news: you can now watch the first episode for free on HBO here, but even better, I’ve teamed up with Fashiolista and HBO to share with you a really cool contest in which you can win a trip to New York for two, by simply clicking here and picking your favorite moment of the new trailer. Now that’s a Happy Thursday!

This was 2013

It’s been quite the year. I’ve been working 2 days on figuring out how to make a recap of the year, whether I would make it personal or not since the personal stuff that happened this year really influenced my style and looks as well.. I couldn’t really decide what to do, and then 2014 happened. I think it was supposed to be like that, 2014 blowing a fresh wind through my hair. So a quick look back on 2013 for now, but I’m happy to move forward and start this year on a positive note and wish you all the very very best.
This was 2013…

The year that I struggled a lot with my health, had 3 surgeries in 4 months but in the end, I beat cancer.

The year that I traveled to Bali, New York, London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Milan and the Isle of Wight. Can’t wait for all the travels to come in 2014.

The year that I did lots of fun projects for Lovely By Lucy, for instance the NSMBL bike shoot (first picture), a big project  for 7 for all Mankind (2nd picture) and the Queensday campaign for ASOS (3rd picture).

The year that my relationship ended and I got a new apartment.

The year in which I should have smiled more. Which is exactly what I plan on doing in 2014. Happy new year!

2013 in review / Best Buys

In the last days of 2013 I will be doing some looking back on what was quite the year for me. But let’s start with something light, my best buys of 2013. They’re quite obvious I guess but these are the items I got in 2013 and still love to bits and still wear at least once a week (except for the espadrilles at the moment, but I can’t wait to wear them again next summer). My Trainers, because when trainers are Chanel, they may be written about with a capital T. My Givenchy Obsedia, the perfect little black bag that goes with any outfit and has accompanied me in so many travels and shoots this year. My favorite summer shoes, the espadrilles. And the Balenciaga boots about which I couldn’t make up my mind for so long, but am very happy I did in the end. The perfect chunky boot. What’s the favorite thing you got in 2013? I’m curious! Happy weekend!

48 hours in Milan

moschino loves disaronno party hotel principe di savoia presidential suite milanmilan trip with disaronno lovelybylucy

Sooooo I spent Tuesday afternoon until this morning in Milan, and for a very good reason: to celebrate Disaronno joining forces in creating a new special Moschino edition look for the Disaronno bottle. The bottle does not only look really cool thanks to Moschino giving it a new look, but part of the sales go to a good cause as well (it’s actually a really good Christmas gift idea!). So I went to Milan to celebrate Moschino and Disaronno collaborating and it was amazing. The location of the party was beyond, in the presidential suite of one of Milan’s most chic hotels with a gorgeous view, private pool and a really good atmosphere. And of course: Disaronno. The first 10 pictures are from the party where I bumped into Linda Tol and wore a Marcel Ostertag for ASOS faux fur jacket. The other 4 pictures are just pretty Milan (I had actually never been there) and me wearing a new Zara marble blouse.
