topshop oversized croc leather travel bag grey

Say hello to my new traveling buddy. I’ve been looking for a good weekend-size bag for traveling but they always seem to be either convenient or pretty, but so far never both at the same time. I saw this one at Topshop this week though and I immediately fell in love with the croc suede grey leather, and it’s huge so it will fit all my stuff for a weekend trip, or a lot of stuff as an extra bag for a longer trip. I’m traveling with it from London back home today, really sad to leave London but it’s good to go home because I really need some sleep! I still have pictures from London to share though so stay tuned :) Happy Wednesday!

London again!

happy lucy

It’s a happy picture kind of day, because I’m on my way to London again! It’s a bit of a spur of the moment thing but it’s fashion week there and I’m going with friends so I’m super excited. I’m way too late to apply for shows so I don’t think I’ll be attending any of the shows but then again, if you’re really interested you can just watch the rest of the blogosphere who will :). I have some other exciting plans and some room for spontaneousness so make sure to keep an eye on instagram to see what I’m up to! See you there!

This Weekend

Pictures from this super fun weekend! I shared some of it here already, but there’s much more. After being in London and going to Bestival on Saturday seeing Snoop doing an amazing performance, I went to Bestival again on Sunday – this time a little longer then just the night – and it’s crazy how big that festival is. So much to do, to see, to dance to. I didn’t want to bring my camera to the festival because festivals and camera’s and rain don’t go well together, so I snapped some pictures of what I wore on Sunday at the hotel. I wore super cool jacquard jeans with just a simple tee and a cashmere cardigan to keep me warm. I really love these jeans and the pattern, they will definitely be worn a lot this fall! Anyways, I was super happy to do this trip with 7 for all Mankind, I’m super hooked to their jeans now, had a great time and will never forget the Snoop performance! Check out the 7 for all Mankind blog for more pictures from their festival tour.

Station to Station

I’m very much in a traveling mood lately. Berlin, Copenhagen, New York, London, I’m already in the mood for a new trip after these 4 in the last 2 months! For now I’ll have to stick to looking at other people traveling though (my entire instagram feed is at NYFW) because I don’t have anything planned yet, but who knows what the next trip will be. Right now I’m drooling over these pictures below from a trip called Station to Station. Led by curator Doug Aitken a colorful group of internationally respected artists and musicians is traveling from New York to San Francisco by train between 6 and 28 September. The trip is hosted by Levi’s and Sef (Dutch music artist) and Tess Milne (Dutch actress) are joining from the Netherlands and reporting from this great Levi’s trip. At every of the 10 stops they make, there’s a big festival taking place. Here’s some of their pictures from the first part of the trip.

The Station to Station train parked at Union Station in Pittsburgh, PA.

Sef: ‘We’re traveling with musicians, artists, filmmakers from all over the world. The trip kicks off in New York where we have dinner with Jonathan Kirby, Levi’s number 1 menswear designer who told us about Levi Strauss that made the same trip from New York to San Francisco. On the second day we head to Brooklyn for the kick off party at Riverside Studios. An amazing location with an unbelievably gorgeous sunset. This trip is all about bringing the unexpected together, throw a bunch of creative people on a train and see what happens. I pretty good idea, if you ask me. The party was great. There were no rules and it was all about surprises and meeting other people and experiences. There was video art, installations, hipsters and hotdogs. ‘It’s so bizarre that we get to be here and be part of this project. I can’t wait for all the other random meetings and artsy experiences that are coming!’

I’m very curious about the rest of their trip, taking the train from NY to San Francisco with a bunch of creative people is recipe for important stories! You can follow this journey with Levi’s right here on Lovely By Lucy.

I think one of my favorite places in New York to walk around during the day so far was East Village. I loved that it wasn’t too commercial there, all kinds of cute little streets and shops, GREAT vintage shopping and cute little places to eat. These are pictures from Tuesday when I was there, a super hot day when I wore some of my new buys. I already had a pair of vintage Levi’s shorts that were close to perfect but now I’ve finally found the perfect ones, because the ones I had are kind of on the short side (read: I couldn’t really bend over in public) and these I can roll up and are the perfect length. Also, my new Supreme stuff – one can never have too many good basics right? My outfits here are quite easy – shoes I can walk on all day, and it’s super hot so the less layers, the best.

Today I went to Brooklyn for the first time in my life which was quite good but would have been even better if it wasn’t raining all day. Nonetheless, there are so many cool areas in NY, both in Brooklyn and in Manhattan that you really need to take the time for to stroll around and find cute little places to eat and shop around a random corner, so I’m really happy that I’m here for 8 days and have the time to do that. Getting ready for another day in this pretty big apple as we speak! Happy Thursday sweeties!

flea market nyc columbus avenuelovelybylucy flea market nycflea market new york upper west side colombus

A quick little update from New York! I arrived on Saturday after a very long journey (delays, delays) and yesterday I went to 2 different flea markets. I hardly ever buy anything on flea markets but I just love strolling around and looking at what’s there. After that we chilled in and walked around Central Park and ended at Dumbo, having a peek at the Brooklyn Bridge and eating some really good Mexican food. Not much pictures of what I’m wearing since it’s not that much blog-worthy, I was still super jetlagged yesterday and it’s so hot in NY! So I just wore my favorite black tee and a pair of cow print shorts. With Chanel sneakers, of course (hash tag gluedtomyfeet). I promise to make lots of pictures from today on, that is if I get to it because today will be filled with shopping, shopping, and more shopping. See youuuu (and don’t forget to check instagram as I try to update that as much as possible).

Packing for NY

Excuse the absence today but I’m busy packing for New York and trying to get some work finished before I leave! I’m soooo excited to go, I have so many fun things planned there and I really can’t wait. I’m trying to pack very light because it’s hot in NYC and I obviously want to do a lot of shopping there. A few things I’m definitely taking: my new grey Nike Air Max 1 – I love the combination of grey with a hint of green so much! A Stussy sweater scored on sale – you must know about my obsession for sweatshirt by now. Shorts, because it’s hot, and sunglasses of course. And my polaroid camera to capture all the good moments, but I’ll take my normal camera and laptop as well of course to keep you updated while I’m there! Happy weekend!
