Outfit | The new grunge

A trend that I expect to be big this spring can best be described as a new form of grunge, with baggy fits, sheer fabrics, lots of plaid.. Inspired by my favorite SS13 collections – Dries van Noten and 3.1 Phillip Lim – I thought why not start now because it lends itself quite well for winter as well. Sheer checks, thank you Zara for not making me have to shop at Dries himself but make a great Dries-ish blouse, a beanie, washed jeans, and there’s the puffer jacket again. Grungy touches are right op my alley. I really love this blouse and I think it might become my most worn top for the summer. Which I can’t wait to arrive, I’m starting to get super tired of this cold. So I rebel a bit and wear patent loafers and bare ankles, even though my ankles were freezing all day it was worth it.

lovelybylucy february 2013 diary 1

Gosh there’s always so much I have to share with you guys. I have loads of pictures though so I’ll just keep the stories short. Here’s what you’re looking at:
1. Just a random outfit before I put it on / 2. Super cute panda iPhone case from H&M / 3. In love with this coat at Zara but I really don’t need a coat right now so I was a good girl and put it back in the racks
4. Love matching my nails to my shoes / 5. With Debbie and Anna at the closet sale we did, again thanks all of you who came! / 6. Super cute cake pops I made with my friends
7. Love this full Dries van Noten look in this month’s Dutch Vogue / 8. My favorite sneakers at the moment / 9. Got myself some distressed denim this weekend, so looking forward to wearing these when I go to Bali in April!

Outfit | Sporting baggy leather

outfit baggy leather trousers sports luxe trend lookZara stripe sleeves sporty topSports chic leather cap lookceline lookalike ponyhair black vans zaraoutfit baggy leather pants cap sporty celine like vans

Baggy leather, something that’s definitely here to stay. Some might say it’s best worn with heels to create a contrast between baggy, voluminous, heavy leather and sleek, feminine touches and personally I often like myself such a contrast in an outfit. But sometimes I’m more in a mood of going all the way. Combining baggy leather track pants that scream sports luxe with a matching leather cap, sporty graphic top and Celine-ish ponyhair sneakers. Baggy sports all the way. Not much feminine about it, but in this outfit I like it that way and luckily I have long hair and a bit of a girly face :)
I’m so happy I found those sneakers by the way, I guess they’re Zara’s next hit and I can understand why. I actually tried on the Céline-version of these which are 6 times as expensive and I can honestly say, these are better. Vans-like shoes can make your feet look like boats, especially from above but these don’t.
I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend and like my outfit since it’s again something different, but I’m totally wearing this again today. Hoping the sports luxe trend will last for ever and ever. Happy Sunday guys!

From the streets of NYC

New York fashion week is over and even though I only enjoyed it from my laptop screen, it was good. Obviously the street style was super interesting as well since Nemo came and ruined expensive designer shoes and I can never wait to see what Taylor Tomasi Hill is wearing. Here are my 7 absolute favorite street style snaps and I guess it’s not much of a coincidence that there’s a lot of Céline involved. The coat on Natasha Goldenberg, Leandra Medine wearing to die for white Céline heels.. Black and white, minimalistic color blocking and contrasts always do it for me. Can’t wait to see what’s up next in London. Happy weekend!!

Outfit | Let’s not pretend

Let’s not pretend we dress up everyday. Sometimes, hoodies and sneakers and the you-can-never-go-wrong-with- black skinnies are the way to go. Preferably, steal something from your boyfriend, that always works. Oversized is pretty much a synonym for comfort. And there are days, for me that’s one or two days a week, that I snuggle up in comfy sweats and ignore fashion a little. A little, that is, because everybody needs that great pair of sneakers that can still attract attention to your cheating-from-fashion look. Sometimes I don’t care that people look at my shoes instead of my outfit. I normally don’t shoot these cheat-looks but I thought I might as well for once because this is also what I wear and cheat-looks are nothing to be ashamed about (don’t take it too far though, sweatpants and uggs are not meant to be worn together in public). Just keepin’ it real ladies. Happy Friday!
